this is a long(ish) exposure shot in the main hallway of the Sciences complex on campus.

2009/12/02: Let’s play around with contrast today, to help train the eye for it. Make a photo that has contrasting colors. #ds17

    What an interesting shot, was trying to figure out by looking what the blurry waves were on the right- how long an exposure? and besides going to small aperture and low ISO, anything else to lenghten exposure time? filters?

    I set the camera to ISO 100, and played with aperture settings. I tried f/22, but it meant too long of an exposure – there was no detail of any passing students visible. I wound up shooting at f/8 (in Aperture Priority mode) and the camera settled on 0.6sec exposure. I have a UV filter on, but it doesn’t block any light so didn’t affect the exposure at all here.
