a bright neon standing pole in one of the newer trains on the northwest C-Train line. this was hopefully the last train ride I’ll be taking for some time, now that my bike is back out of the shop.

the grass in the soccer field behind our house is some kind of insane mosquito factory. walking home from the bus, I got dozens of bites from the little buggers.

I blew up this giant 4′ diameter plastic sphere hamster wheel for the boy, and now he’s having a blast rolling around the yard in it. He wants to sleep in it…

I had to take the bike into Bow Cycle for some work. I blew out the bottom bracket, and the chain was stretched and needed replacing. it likely needs another casette (after replacing it in February). and new disk brake pads. Still, it’s way cheaper than driving, or a gym membership. After over 15,000km on the bike, a little maintenance should keep it on the road for a few more…

these rafters were hoisting a pirate flag. not sure they had the capability to overtake other vessels on the river, but it sure looked refreshing…

Evan and I went for an epic 31km bike ride this afternoon, making our way from Tuscany, down through Baker and Bowness parks, then on through Bowness toward downtown, before turning around and heading back up the hill for home. Not a bad ride, especially for a 7 year old!
